Welcome to CMCB![]() Hawth Concert - October 2007 CMCB have played at over 15 “Prom in the Park” concerts in recent years. We hold our annual concert every October and these have included joint concerts with The Band of the Royal Marines, The Royal Artillery and the Band of the Royal Logistic Corps. In the first ten years of its life, CMCB has toured abroad 5 times. In 2001 the band visited Crawley's twin town Dorsten. This was followed by participation in the music and cultural festival in Gyula, Hungary to which the band has since returned. In 2004 the band toured the Ukraine taking part in the Independence celebrations and playing before an audience of 27,000 in the town of Ternopil. In 2008 we visited Rome performing at several venues, including the British Embassy. ![]() Hawth Concert - October 2007 We perform all over the South East in addition to performing regularly in Crawley for events such as Crawley Festival and local charity events. Further afield the band entertains at a variety of venues, such as concert halls, bandstand and private functions. Membership of CMCB is open to all wind and percussion players who are over 16 years of age and who have attained a standard of proficiency equivalent to Grade V. The current membership of around 35 musicians is drawn from all sections of the community, including students, ex armed forces musicians, teachers, accountants, members of the police force and ambulance service, doctors, and engineers – you name it, we have it! CMCB prides itself on its versatility. In addition to the main concert band we run the Millennium Voices and soloists - who perform with us at large concert events - and the Millennium Dance Band. Our performances feature repertoire of all genres including pieces in which the band “performs” the music in its own unique way rather than simply play the notes!! This has thrilled audiences of all ages at home and abroad - CMCB members like to let their hair down! |
